Bed model brief description
The main objective of this project is to establish a new methodology for simulation biomass combustion system. This new methodology will allow a fully integrated bed model in the entire CFD model so that the coupling between the solid phase and the gas phase is done within the software itself. Thanks to this integration, the bed model will predict complex geometries in the burner, particle movement, fully interaction with the freeboard and a transient solution of the cases.
Moreover, by creating a user interface in the commercial code, parameters and operating conditions of the particular case may be included externally without modifying the model code, thereby allowing users with no programming skills to simulate their particular cases. For this users, it has been included a step-by-step configuration of the simulation, with tips and helps, to allow them to automatically configure the simulation, just following the steps' order. At the same time, the experienced user can even know the detailed configuration of the case and make their own changes in the configuration. This interface also allows for the recording of the whole set of model parameters or only the fuel parameters into a file in order to use them in different simulations or share them.
