Combustion

In addition to the ESPs modelling line, an experimental line is working in parallel. A lab-scale tubular type electrotatic precipitator was designed and developed by our experimental team. In this way, design aspects can be easily evaluated. In fact, a re-design was already carried out in order to reach a better behaviour. A test methodology was developed through which removal efficiency of the prototype can be studied as well as other important factors. Currently, it is used as a diesel engine particle emission control device and it will be soon employed to treat small scale combustion emissions. This experimental work also serves to validate the simulation results. Advances related to these new technology are expected by continuing with this research line.
